NGCOA RELEASES 2022 GOLF BUSINESS PULSE REPORT: A VIEW INTO THE CHANGING INDUSTRY OF GOLF OPERATIONS

SLRG has partnered with the National Golf Course Owners Association to release the 2022 Golf Business Pulse Report, a comprehensive look at trends in golf facility operations

Charleston, S.C.  – The National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA), the trade association dedicated exclusively to golf course ownership and operations, today released its latest publication, the 2022 Golf Business Pulse Report. The report’s data, analysis and insights on challenges and emerging trends are essential for business planning in the year ahead.

The report, developed and produced in partnership with Sports and Leisure Research Group (SLRG), and sponsored by the United States Golf Association (USGA), examines critical issues that golf course owners and operators are facing today; it gives a macro perspective on the state of the golf course operations business and takes a deeper dive into three key operating areas: Operations, Agronomy and Customer Development & Engagement.

“The golf course business lives at the intersection of conservative and dynamic, so it’s important to pause and see what’s on the minds of owners and operators,” said Jay Karen, NGCOA’s chief executive officer. “The Golf Business Pulse Report is a great read for anyone in the business of running a public course, private club, resort or municipal operation. The changes in our industry, and the opportunities to seize, cut across all types of operations. We are pleased to contribute this to the body of knowledge in our industry.”

Research and development included substantial interviews conducted with NGCOA members and hundreds of facility owners and operators. The results show attitudes and perceptions on significant challenges, opportunities and issues, and determine the extent of their impact on golf facility performance optimization. The report also explores technology, labor issues, inflation, gamification, new player orientation and more, and reveals empirical, attitudinal and operational perspectives, and perceptual gaps and alignment across key constituent groups and varying golf facility segments.

NGCOA members can download the report at no cost, and non-member golf course owners and operators can purchase the report for $99. Visit https://bit.ly/2022_GB_Pulse_Report for details.
